What is the different between Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator?

Well as far as I know Adobe Photoshop is use to handle some minor editing on your photo while Adobe Illustrator is to create or draw a picture or photo from nothing. So, this means Adobe Illustrator is more advance compared to Adobe Photoshop. Even I did not manage to master Adobe Illustrator very well. This does not mean than Photoshop is limited to editing, but it just suit for editing but still can be used for others. So which one is better? Both! This is because it compliments each other.
